A 10.5-hectare, Vegas-style island will appear in Dubai, which will be called "Island". It was built by property developer Wasl for $1.2 billion. Jumeirah Beach will be revitalized by a trio of iconic Las Vegas hotels: MGM, Bellagio and Aria, with 1,400 hotel rooms and apartments, as well as shops and restaurants.
According to TimeoutDubai, "The Island" is considered the largest construction deal in the Emirate since 2017. The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) will oversee operations to ensure a responsible and well-regulated gaming environment.
"We believe this will become one of the best gaming hospitality brands in the world," said MGM President and CEO William Hornbuckle.
The "Island" has been under development for several years and is located in the coastal area of Umm Suqeim. It will be located near Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and public beach.
